Collaboration
Office Live Workspace gives the users the ability to create, edit and save office
documents in a shared. They can create a number of different workspaces so there
could be one for each assignment of project that is being worked on. This means
that is it simple to collaborate with fellow students and teachers.
The documents, which can be password protected, would include course material, assignments
and class notes which then they can distribute through the workspace meaning whoever
has access to that workspace will be able to see those documents.
If at home, or even down the local internet cafe, they can work on these documents
because it using an online version of Microsoft Office so it doesn’t need to be
installed on the local desktop.
Users are given a total storage capacity of 5GB with individual documents up to
25MB .
Microsoft SharedView is a tool to let the users collaborate
by sharing desktops and documents. If they are working on a project together they
will be able to look at the same document, each making changes at the same time
and not having to be in the same place. Up to 15 people can work together in this
way.
Microsoft Live Spaces gives the user the room to create blogs,
host discussions and add photos and videos. Create a group project, college club
or a personal page. They can link to their SkyDrive and share their space with the
people that they want to share it with.
Microsoft Live Messenger is an instant messaging tool that
allows users to chat with up to 15 people at once, and share photos and documents.
They can sort their contacts into those they communicate with most frequently or
those with whom they are working on particular projects. They access this using
their Live@edu account and connecting through their browser, without having to download
the client.
